British DJs

This is an example of quick flashing shots by a well-known DJ called Rusko. I really enjoy this music video, as it does have an edgy British feel to it. The beginning is a build up to the actual song, similar to our song where we will be including a fast moving tracking shot. The location is based in urban-y settings of London, which is exactly where we intended on filming ours, especially Brick Lane etc.

Video Montage

Here is our video montage of all the techniques we'd love to include in our music video. We have only experimented with a few so far, but as we are getting further into our storyboard, we will be able to carry out more and will upload them onto our blogs.

Our Treatment

This is the link to Prezi, which is what we used to do our pitch to the rest of the Media class. Below, there is also the recording of our treatment. We, as a group, thought our presentation really well and we were able to express our overall thoughts and final ideas of what we want to achieve.

Production Journal - 7th Oct

This current week has just been focused on completing our treatment, which we are going to present to the class on Monday. We are using Prezi, where we will include our key words, loads of pictures and links to the videos that have influenced us on our final ideas!

Voyeurism Idea

We found this Nero video and aboslutely love the voyeurism aspect! At around point 0.33, the young girls are singing karaoke on the television and we think this would be an original, quirky element to include in our music video.

Song Lyrics

Now here you go again
You say you want your freedom
Well, who am I to keep you down?
It's only right that you should
Play the way you feel it

But listen carefully to the sound
Of your loneliness
Like a heartbeat drives you mad
In the stillness of remembering
What you had
And what you lost...
And what you had...
And what you lost

(Oooooh)

Oh, thunder only happens when it's raining
Players only love you when they're playing
Say, women...they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean, you'll know
You'll know

On elyrics.net, I found the lyrics to Fleetwood Mac's Dreams (the song we are using for our music video) - here I have highlighted and enlarged the key words signifying the main themes for our music video. It is obviously about love, however the song is not specific in anyway and we can therefore choose to play on many different aspects such as freedom, independence, relationships, friendships, love, hate and our surroundings.

Band Brand

After some a long, hard think, we finally settled with a band name, Hunt The Noise. It's original, slightly chilling and I think its a suitable choice, as we have to play the role of being DJs remixing this classic Fleetwood Mac song. Also, it is a very versatile choice because it can be the name of ANY genre.

Website Analysis

CHASE AND STATUS
They are one of the most famous British music production duo, having taken a close look at their website, it is clear to see that there is a distinctive theme to their label. The main colours were black and yellow, which can be seen as giving the connotations of danger - similar to the black and yellow hazard tape in crime scenes. Their website is ultimately to promote. The first thing on their website is the social networking sites to allow interaction between fans, also giving them the opportunity to sign up and become a member.

Various tour dates and events of where Chase and Status would be performing was also shown on the homepage, giving fans a chance to buy tickets via their website. This is most likely to notify 'members' who have signed up to their fan club whenever available tickets come up for sale.
Like many artists' websites, sneak previews or full songs for their most recent song is displayed on their homepage for viewers to watch and listen to. Photographs and videos of previous performances and events are usually put up as well in order to interest those who perhaps, have never seen them live.
As years go by and less and less CDs are bought in person, it is only right for Chase and Status to promote their album on their website for fans to buy it straight up. Their 'store' also contains various C+S hoodies and tshirts, further encouraging their publicity. After analysing the Chase and Status website, it is evident to see that like all websites, they MUST have a consistent theme and logo, making the brand recognisable for all.

New Song Choice Permission

As we have changed our song from Justice's D.A.N.C.E to Fleetwood Mac's Dreams, we have to first get permission from Blue Horizon records (Fleetwood Mac's record label) to ensure we are able to to use it without committing anything against the copyright act.

OUR NEW SONG

We have finally found our new song! It is catchy with a good beat where we can incorporate all our original ideas into, along with lyrics so we have include lip syncing in there too. Despite being an old song - The Twelves have made a remix version, which creates the dance-y/electro sound to it as well as it having that retro/aged feel to it.
